They take up a cause, put out their donation boxes in the service area where customers and employees can drop their contributions, publicize the cause in their advertising and on their website, and talk about it with their customers. When the donation drive is over, the company matches the funds they’ve raised and moves on to the next project. It’s not just money they raise; their efforts also raise awareness for people and animals in need, and the groups that seek to help them.

This quote keeps resurfacing in my mind as I witness the world facing so many seemingly overwhelming challenges, and especially when I am confronted by immediate obstacles to achieving harmony in my life and that of loved ones. When I’m tempted to try to “figure it all out” at once, I remind myself to keep it simple and ask, “What is the next step I need to take?” This query helps me stay in the present moment and focus on the task at hand instead of worrying about a future that isn’t yet here.
