When William Morris, president of AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine (AOMA), was a teenager, he spent a great deal of time alone, reading and in contemplation. He enjoyed the teachings of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tsu, and hoped one day to become a sage just like him. Many of his friends came to him for advice because he seemed to propose sensible solutions to their problems. Morris was also a very good drummer; for many years, he toured professionally, playing in jazz and funk bands.

Finding Peace, Face to Face

White Tantric Yoga, a one-day meditation workshop facilitated in 37 cities around the world, is coming to the Omni Hotel Downtown Austin on February 1, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

White Tantric Yoga enables participants to break through subconscious blocks so that they can have a more enjoyable life. In the shortest time, they can experience release from a lot of the burden they carry in their minds. It is done in pairs as a group meditation. Participants sit facing a partner and follow instructions for meditation given on a video by Yogi Bhajan, whose authority to be the Mahan Tantric, master of White Tantric Yoga, was bestowed upon him in 1970. Although Bhajan has passed away, a representative of the Mahan Tantric will be present to facilitate the meditation.
