Dance Into Wisdom and Bliss

By March 9, 2016Local

Austin Tara Circle offers simple, inspiring and joyful dance meditations to manifest innate wisdom, compassion and power. The group will soon present a series of special transformative Dance into Wisdom and Bliss events encompassing several interconnected practices led by a teacher of rare talent and sublime insight toward a path to awakening and experiencing a healing journey into the Divine.

Prema Dasara—holder of a unique Tara lineage, creator of a ritual dance of empowerment and sacred celebration, and praised by many high lamas of Tibetan Buddhism—will conduct Dharma and Dance of Padmasambhava, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., April 7, including teachings by resident lama Lobtsul Rinpoche, and Calling Tara from the Heart, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m., on April 9 and 10, at Palri Pema Od Ling, in Austin.

The sessions feature powerful Tibetan Buddhist reflections and Mercedes Bahleda’s enchanting music, evoking a deeply devotional experience. A celebratory feast, combining the dances that lead into the blissful experience of awakening, will culminate the weekend.

Also, a Dance as a Sacred Offering: 3 Women, 3 Traditions, with Dasara, Chayito Champion, flamenco artist and creator of the North American Misa Flamenca, and Helene Christopher, belly dance artist and Wiccan priestess, will take place at 7 p.m., April 8 at Bookwoman, in Austin; and a Healing Dances presentation with Dasara is set for 7 p.m., April 12 at the Zen Shinji Centre.

Austin Tara Circle encompasses a group of Dasara’s students that meet three times per month to study and dance the qualities of the Enlightened Feminine.
