Enjoy Pampering and Self-Care at Rural Women’s Retreat

By March 9, 2016Local

The Central Texas Women’s Retreat offers an affordable weekend away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Featured workshops include yoga, qigong, aromatherapy, wine tasting, art and meditation. The retreat will be held April 1 through 3, at the Margaret Austin Center, which boasts over 40 acres of beautiful countryside to explore. Spring in the hill country is the perfect opportunity to see the famous Texas wildflowers.

Megan Zvezda, a local Austin designer, wife and mother of two, organizes the Central Texas Women’s Retreat. Zvezda saw the necessity of a relaxing retreat for busy women all over Texas and created the event to allow every woman to be able to take time for herself. She strives to keep the event affordable; delicious vegetarian food, inspiring workshops and shared accommodations are all included in the registration fee. A massage therapist and henna artist will also be available over the weekend (not included in retreat fee).

The featured presenter is Donna Belk, who has been teaching yoga in Austin for over 25 years. Belk is the co-founder of The Official Austin Free Day of Yoga and will be leading an evening yoga nidra, a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping.

Cost: $295. Location: 6650 County Rd. 117, Chappell Hill. For more information or to register, visit TXWomensRetreat.com.
