Peace-N-Rhythm Festival Strives to Unite

Cosmic Intuition Productions presents Peace-N-Rhythm Festival 2016. With this year’s theme of “Save the Children,” the festival will begin with a community discussion for solving racial disharmony at 7 p.m., April 4 at the Family Life Center. The main event, Concert For Peace takes place at 7:30 p.m., April 9, also at the Family Life Center.

The concert features Cosmic Intuition Unity Arkestra playing the music of Sun Ra and more with special guest saxophonist Bilal Sunni-Ali (from Gil Scott-Heron’s Midnight Band). Also performing is pianist Dr. Craig Nazor, guitarist Fumihito Sugawara, Caribbean sounds from Cornerstone and the poetry of Mr. Ed Glover. The event opens with harpist Hadda Elias.

Peace-N-Rhythm Festival is a nonprofit event under the auspices of The Austin Creative Alliance, an organization working to build an inclusive, transparent and responsive alliance that can effectively serve and nurture Austin’s vibrant cultural ecosystem.

The project is supported in part by The Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Growth and Redevelopment Services Office.
