Experienced teacher, 21- plus Guiness World Record holder and daredevil adventurer Wim Hof will be offering his Innerfire workshop from from 2 to 8 p.m., June 14, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 15, at Eastside Austin Elite. Participants will learn the Wim Hof Method (WHM) to control the autonomic nervous system, allowing them to influence their immune system, improve blood circulation, increase concentration, develop their confidence and expand their consciousness.

In January, 26 people climbed Mount Kilimanjaro within a 48-hour period using the WHM, an achievement considered impossible by experts. Usually, a climber needs five to seven days to acclimate to the conditions, which include extreme cold and highly reduced oxygen levels. When ascending extreme heights, the risk of altitude sickness increases exponentially.

It usually starts with headaches, dizziness, confusion, pulmonary and cerebral edema and even death may occur. With the WHM, participants were able to suppress the first symptoms of altitude sickness in a safe manner. Hof explains: “My method offers people the possibility to influence their mind and body, and in particular, their nervous system. In the course of time people forgot how much they are able to do with their own bodies, and they have become dependent on pills and powders. I want to show the world that they do not always need those and can do much more themselves!”

Cost: $350 (work-trade and scholarships available). Location: 507 Calles St., Ste. 112, Austin. For more information, call 512-865-0709, email Info@LiveLoveLee.com or visit LiveLoveLee.com/events.
